Raising a child with brain-injury challenges the best of us. We must make enormous, complex medical decisions even though we aren't experts. On top of that, the information we need may be difficult to find.
Those of us with children who are failing in school often face a similar situation. We want to help our children succeed, but we don't know where to turn.
ACTG sponsors the Kretsch Family Brain Resource Library for just this purpose - to give you the opportunity to explore and learn. Established by a family who themselves suddenly faced major, frightening decisions only days after a member received a brain injury, the library is designed to provide the average person with the information needed to make informed decisions or explore new options.
The Library's more than 1,000 volumes are available free of charge and cover everything from autism to learning disabilities to adult head injury. We select Kretsch Library materials based on their ability to explain problems and solutions in ways any one of us can understand and on the author's willingness to look at a full range of options rather than just one or two.
