My son experienced enormous benefit from the AVE program.   After 5 sessions he went from being unable to read simple words, without assistance, to reading whole paragraphs unassisted.   He went from being scattered and disruptive in class to a well-mannered child who was able to focus on classroom assignments.   Stress was reduced at home for everyone, as my son was far more agreeable and compliant to household routines and expectations.   The AVE program has had a significant part in creating greater successes in my son's life.

Our son, age 14, diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy 2 years ago, has been a slow learner and mentally impaired for years.   He has used the AVE machine approximately   5 weeks.    Right away my husband and I noticed more alertness in Danny, especially in completing tasks and being more organized.   Nothing else has ever worked and I was skeptical.   It's hard to put a finger on what is different, but we know for sure it is a change for the better.

I am currently working with a student who is attending a three week Summer Boost Up Program.   As a part of Boost Up the student has been involved in the AVE program.   Since the involvement in AVE, I have noticed a positive change in the student's behavior, particularly after the session.   The body is calm, relaxed, and seems ready to move to the next activity.

After just a week of taking the AVE machine home to use with my daughter, family and friends have noticed a big change in her.   She herself has noticed if she doesn't use it she doesn't feel as good.   My 25-year-old nephew (her cousin) said, "What did you do to her.   She seems more calm and loving.   A year ago she was diagnosed as having anxiety with underlying depression and now still wets the bed.   We see these things slowly being moderated.   She has 3-4 more sessions before she hits 20 but there has been a significant change already.  

I have now started it in the classroom and if we can use it daily, I know that the same wonderful changes will happen with these children.   We have already seen one child be able to relax and fall asleep twice when doing this.   That in itself is amazing!

My husband & I both use the machine.   For myself, I have always been a very nervous/anxious person and would get sick to my stomach when something was bothering me.   Since I have used the machine, I haven't had a problem with my nerves.   To say that   the AVE machine has greatly changed my life would be an understatement!

My husband also enjoys using it as a tool in helping to calm down after a long day or to help wake-up and ease into the day ahead.

I started using the AVE device as a way to solve my insomnia problem without using medication.   I was interested in the machine because I have struggled with insomnia for 4 years.   The medication was only partially helpful, giving me 4 hours   of sleep.   Since I have been using the AVE device, I can sleep about 7 hours.   If I do wake up in the middle of the night, I put it on & go back to sleep.   I feel much better for not using the medication & getting enough sleep.

We have used Audio Visual Entrainment for almost five years.   My first experience with the effectiveness of this type of Neurotechnology goes back to a forth grade class, currently this years eighth grade class, in which 6 students we reading at the low first grade level.   The gender makeup of these six students included four boys and two girls.   I put all six students on SRA Corrective Reading and the two girls immediately showed significant improvement.   The four boys only demonstrated minimal improvement.   All four boys did demonstrate some ADD or ADHD behaviors and consequently, we decided to try AVE with all four boys.   Within a couple of weeks, I noticed a significant increase in their reading ability.   After one school year, they all appeared to read at or close to grade level and their scores on the Iowa Basic Achievement Test in reading verified this.   All four boys achievement scores above the criteria score for Title I services.   Another interesting phenomenon occurred in that two of the boys we retested with the WISC-III IQ test.   One boy had a Verbal/Performance discrepancy of 21 points with a lower Performance score.   The other boy also had a discrepancy of 17 points with the Verbal score lower.   The boy with the lower Performance score showed an increase of 18 points on his Performance score and the other boy showed an increase 13 points on his Verbal score.

The fourth grade group from the last year has an interesting demographic profile in that at least 1/3 to 1/2 of the class functions below average academically.   The class of 33 students has three students meeting criteria for DCD, one student borderline DCD, two other meeting criteria for SLD and one student meeting criteria for hearing impairment who also demonstrates severe autistic behavior and is unable to function without the assistance of a full time paraprofessional.   A total of 17 students receive additional help through special education or Title I.   One of the DCD students receives one-to-one instruction for a DCD teacher.   The other DCD students receive special education instruction in Math and reading.   Depending on the severity of the students, we utilize three different interventions for students experiencing difficulties in reading.   Our first choice is SRA Corrective Reading, but in severe cases we try to supplement with Fast Forward for theses with obvious Auditory Processing Deficits and Audio Visual Entrainment.  

We test students twice a year, fall and spring, with the NWEA assessment to determine individual student achievement growth.   Last year we put five students from fourth grade on AVE.   Two of those students also received FastForward and worked through the SRA Corrective Reading Program.   Except for the students classified as severe DCD, all students presented gains from 9 to 21 points.    I am including a chart showing the student gains relative to other special education and Title I students.

I initially began using AVE for behavior control but I have found that AVE is just as affective for academic achievement and improvement as for behavior control.   I usually try to write my own programs relatives to the needs of the individual students.   I look at IQ test scores, most specifically the Verbal and Performance scores, classroom behavior, checklists provided by A Chance To Grow, and most recently, in some instances when other indicators are not providing me with enough information, I will use 2D/4D digit ratio of the right hand to give me possible indicator as to which cerebral hemisphere may be dominant.   But I only use the digit ratio as a last resort.   And, when else fails, you can always fall back on the programs and trial and error.
I am totally sold on AVE and I truly believe that AVE has applications for focus, behavior, and improved academic improvement

My experience using the AVE machine has been excellent.   This was an answer to my prayer.   My son has always been a warrior from the time he was a newborn.   He was a colic baby until 8 months.   He was a very active toddler; always into mischief.   I decided to stay home with him at 3 years old due to all the complaints I was receiving at the daycare.   I was in denial.   I kept saying he will grow out of it, just give him a chance, or he's a boy, all the excuses that a mother could think of.  

Well, kindergarten came along; there was no hiding him anymore.   Besides it was so difficult to even keep him sitting still for a short period of time.   I refused to put him on medication, so I was searching everywhere, thinking what I can do before he gets kicked out of school.   "I can't keep hiding his behavior".   I prayed non stop -- when you have a child like the one I had, you will become very religious.   To show you how God answered my prayers........

I was talking to a friend that lives in Atlanta, GA.   She was telling me about one of her daycare children.   A very overactive, non thinking, just do whatever comes to mind, shouting, jumping uncontrollably, running, not stopping to slow down.....The list goes on & on.   I instantly said that sounds like my kid.   She was trying to explain to me about the DAVID (AUDIO VISUAL ENTRAINMENT) machine, but because she didn't have a need for it she really didn't know the particulars.   All she kept saying, this is a totally different kid now.   I instantly went for a manhunt for the parent.   She had moved over a year ago to Seattle and no one had her new phone number or address. I searched until I found the parent. That was the beginning of my rainbow.

The parent explained to me about the program, how it helped her daughter( along with the 123 MAGIC), and how pleased she was. Her last comments to me were "What do you have to lose, nothing is working for you now".   She gave me a telephone number to A CHANCE TO GROW. I ordered the machine along with the 123 MAGIC book & tape.   It took about 4 weeks for me to see results from the AVE machine and about a week for the 123 MAGIC to work. I am very pleased with the program.   My son can sit still in a class now, not all over the place.   No shouting out in class; no more impulsive behavior. Now, when I ask him a question he will answer; no more "I don't know" answers, or "I forgot". His attention span is much longer.   He is able to learn; his grades are good.  

As far as the 123 MAGIC goes, all I have to do is wave my finger or simply say,"that's one" and his behavior shapes up.   I even use it on my 3 year old.  

I have nothing but positive words to say about the AVE machine.   It 's an answer to a parent's prayer that has an overactive child.   I only wish I had heard about the company before now, it could have saved me many headaches.   If it weren't for my friend hearing about this machine from a daycare parent, I'm sure by now my son would have been on medication, because the school would have put pressure on me to control him.   I wanted to correct this 6 year old male behavior, not cover it up with medication.   And your program has allowed me to achieve that goal.   I feel very confident about his future, thanks to the AVE machine.

ASPBERGERS / OPPOSITIONAL DEFIANT

Our 15-year-old son with Aspergers and ODD entered Neurofeedback after a very difficult downturn, which made it clear he could tolerate no drugs.   He ha experienced a great deal of internal anxiety, frustration, and irritability, which has presented itself as confusion, non-compliance, and unpredictable mood swings.   Up until this point in his life.   My son had gutted his way through hi responsibilities with determination and duty.   While I admire his strength of character, it is wrenching, as a parent, to watch your child cycle through flares of temper followed by remorse, unresolved, and failure, all in the background of fatigue and anxiety.   Neurofeedback has not turned him into a straight "A" student.   He is not yet at a normal energy level, nor is he able to keep up the pace and level of activity of ordinary high school peers.   But, what he is doing, he is doing with serenity and confidant and success.   My son is able to speak up because he is not afraid of losing control of his temper.   He is participating in school activities and learning from them, because he has the emotional energy to do so.   I can correct, criticize, or give instructions without sending him into a tailspin; because his mood is stable and frustration is greatly lessened.   Overall, quality of life for my son and our family has dramatically improved.

My son's teachers complained that he was not paying attention and could not sit still throughout his early years in school.   He is a smart boy, but sometimes it was hard to keep him on task. They suggested I have him diagnosed for Attention Deficit Disorder. My sister had heard about this program so I decided to try it before I tried medication.   I am very glad I did.

The light and sound program and the computer games did train him so that he was able to sit still in the class. His teacher who had complained in the fall said in the spring, "I don't know why I brought it up. He fits in the class just fine." It was pretty amazing how we could see that change in his brain waves and the change in behavior.   He also has Tourette syndrome. The ticks went away. Medication would have made the ticks worse. Unfortunately, I think he needs the Neurotechnology ongoing to maintain the great effects of the training.  

It is unfortunate it is not available through our health care system. It was expensive and if I had not been a stay at home mom, it would have been too big of a commitment. It needs to be more accessible and promoted as an alternative to medication. Ritalin is contra indicated fro Attention Deficit Disorder when ticks are involved. I had my doubts when I saw the equipment, but with the disappearance of the ticks and the teachers' reports of no problems for the next two years, I am a believer. More work needs to be done in this field! Please Support It!

I have seen lots of subtle changes that add up to a significant change.   My son is more able to come home & share what has happened at school.   Before he was unable to remember or not willing to remember .   Now he starts to initiate.   He is seeking play dates (asking kids for name & phone numbers).   He is more outgoing, positive, proactive, & focused.   His eye contact and initiating conversations have increased.   He is also seeking new activities, suggesting compromises, and proud of achievements.
