Program Assistant - Early Childhood Administration

Our dedicated team delivers life-changing services in the areas of therapy, education, and care – helping thousands of children with developmental disabilities, families and teen parents, educators, child care providers, and adults with special needs across the Twin Cities and beyond. 

We are currently looking for a Program Assistant in our Child Care center, Turnquist Child Enrichment Center. Become part of a hard-working, highly dedicated team. Position type: Full-Time, 40 hours per week, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm with occasional activities after 5:30 pm as needed 

Pay range: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Overtime eligible.

Location: ACTG/Turnquist is located in a beautiful neighborhood in Northeast Minneapolis close to public transit and freeways, downtown, retail, restaurants, and walking trails.

Description of responsibilities

• Manage and maintain/cleanliness and create a welcoming environment 
• Manage the food program and kitchen 
• Serve food to students 
• Serve as a classroom/floating substitute where needed 
• Serve as the first point of contact for parents at the Turnquist front desk 
• Take payments and other paperwork required for maintaining enrollment from families on a regular basis

 
Experience: 

• Experience working with children (required) 
• Experience in food service of any kind (required)
• Some basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and email etiquette (required)
• Experience working as a Lead teacher in a childcare setting (preferred) 
• Experience with online data tracking software (preferred) 
• ServSafe Certification (Preferred)

 
Skills: 

• Communication skills, both written and verbal 
• Independence in working on tasks
• Flexibility in day to day operations and schedule 
• Warm welcoming, positive tone of voice at all times - even when under pressure 
• Ability to work with a diverse group of staff members on many different projects
