one s.m.a.r.t. teacher

“Less is more”  “Simple is best”  “Use small things to teach big things” 

All of these phrases give us a powerful reminder that when starting S.M.A.R.T. at the beginning of the year….go slow and build!

One S.M.A.R.T. teacher Jess focuses on setting up a course in her classroom for our big 4: Alligator Crawl, Pencil Roll, Slap Track, and Balance Beam.
​

Keeping within the walkways of her classroom, Jess places little movement pictures on the floor with contact paper to indicate where the activity starts. Within two weeks, her class will move through the course of four activities.

After two weeks, Jess will add in a few core S.M.A.R.T. activities at a time. Her motto in kindergarten is to “go slow to go fast!”​
