Ready for Some Readiness Movement! One S.M.A.R.T. teacher Julie is bringing purposeful movement into her school’s Zones Room and sensory space—and she’s keeping it simple! Julie is incorporating CORE floor movements to give students opportunities to build and strengthen their sensory pathways. It’s a great reminder that adding S.M.A.R.T. doesn’t have to mean a complete room makeover. Sometimes, starting with a few intentional movements is all it takes to create new opportunities for learning, regulation, and readiness. As Julie puts it, “The Zones Room is ready for some readiness movement!” We love seeing how S.M.A.R.T. teachers are finding creative ways to bring movement into the spaces they already have.
Do you see elements of S.M.A.R.T. that you could incorporate into your sensory spaces? Have photos or ideas to share with the S.M.A.R.T. community? Send them our way! We’d love to see how you’re making movement part of your space. 📧 [email protected]
