Why is my child participating in the S.M.A.R.T. program? The American Academy of Pediatrics recognizes the high value of movement for learning. Their policy statement quotes: “Physical activity is crucial to the development of a child's brain. Movement helps to enhance neural connections, supports cognitive development, and improves overall learning outcomes.”
Ask your child’s teacher to share some of the activities with you and encourage your child to show you some of the movements at home!
