CAPDOTS

Improved Listening Leads to Better Understanding
A Chance To Grow's Audiology Clinic offers the CAPD Online Therapy System (CAPDOTS™) -- a deficit-specific, online auditory training system for the treatment of Central Auditory Processing Disorders. CAPDOTS is an auditory therapy comprised of programs that can be chosen to meet the specific needs of the individual dealing with the auditory processing disorder.

The CAPDOTS™program allows our Audiologists to provide a formal, off-site training therapy that their clients can access anywhere there's an Internet connection. A user's progress can be easily monitored daily at the clinician's convenience through the website.
This program is available in two modules:
  • CAPDOTS™- Integrated
This module is appropriate for individuals who have difficulty with integrating information received from both ears
  • CAPDOTS™- Selected
This module is appropriate for individuals who have difficulty separating information between both ears

Poor listening skills can have profound effects on cognitive, academic and social functioning. The CAPDOTS™program can address the these concerns and even improve an individual's self-confidence, self-awareness, socialization and independence. If you would like to learn more about CAPDOTS™, please contact our Audiology Clinic at (612) 789-1236 or email rehabclinic@actg.org.
Candidates for CAPDOTS™include individuals experiencing...
  • Difficulty hearing in background noise
  • Distracted from listening activities
  • Distracted by noise and other sounds
  • Difficulty following group directions
  • Gets overwhelmed by too much information
  • Inability to follow conversations if more than one person is speaking
  • Difficulty following complex, multi-step directions

What our clients say about our services
"The CAPDOTS program was a helpful therapy for my daughter. Before we used the program, she would always respond to a question with a befuddled "What?" Thankfully, the frequency of that response has gone way down.  Her teachers have also commented on how much more engaged she is in class. We really like the fact that we can do the therapy at home."
- Mother of 10-year-old with Auditory Processing Disorder
