Does your S.M.A.R.T. Space have a tile floor? If so, your students have probably “reported” their knees hurt when they do the Slap/Creep Track. Many S.M.A.R.T. teachers use foam squares as a cushion underneath the track, but what if your foam squares are already in use? Check with your building maintenance crew (or even a local carpet store) for extra carpet squares or remnants. Your students’ knees will thank you, and so will your pocket book!
Using Velcro is a great way to secure the track to a carpeted surface and some teachers even use tape. If Velcro and tape aren’t keeping your Slap/Creep Track in place, try binder clips! The clips will hold the track in place while your students make their way down the track.
