![]() Are you noticing your students moving quickly across the Balance Beam? This means they are ready for a new challenge! When your students are ready for a challenge on the Balance Beam, but you haven’t had time to prep a change, have them stop and do a Flamingo Pose on the beam or have them close their eyes as they walk forward. Yes, it can be THAT simple! Here's why: after you've given your student's brains and our bodies several opportunities to experience Balancing Activities with eyes open, you can increase the intensity of the stimulation by having your students close their eyes. Try it yourself! Stand on one foot for 5 seconds with your eyes open, then try it again with your eyes closed. Taking away the visual input engages the Vestibular system and naturally increases the intensity, it's really that simple!
